About Us

Meet Our Founder

Founded by Janifer Taylor, in December, 2024, a survivor of gun violence, Next Day After, Inc., emerged in direct response to the rising toll of trauma on mothers and families in Southeast Queens. After witnessing a gap in meaningful, ongoing support for mothers impacted by gun violence, the founder began hosting informal peer support sessions, monthly food pantry distributions and health wellness activities in the American Legion Post # 483, in Rosedale, NY.

The overwhelming response made it clear; this work needed formal structure and long-term investment.

The organization became officially incorporated as a New York State not-for-profit, to serve as a community anchor for healing, support and advocacy.
